chief cardiologist
Dr. Metz Edit Mária began her medical career in 1986, graduating summa cum laude.
She first worked for a year as a ward physician in the Geriatric Department of Korányi Hospital, then spent nearly fifteen years in the Internal Medicine and Cardiology Departments of the Budai Honvéd Hospital, first as a staff physician, later as a specialist and adjunct physician.
In 2001, she transferred to the Internal Medicine, Angiology, and Cardiology Department of Flór Ferenc Hospital in Kistarcsa, where she left after three and a half years as deputy head of department to join the Internal Medicine and Cardiology Department of the Outpatient Clinic in Budapest's District V as chief physician. During the six years she spent there, she had the opportunity to establish her own private internal medicine and cardiology practice in Dunakeszi, where she consulted twice a week between 2009 and 2014.
The year 2010 brought a significant challenge when she was offered the position of chief physician of the Cardiology Department and head of the Echocardiography Laboratory at the St. Imre University Teaching Hospital in Budapest. The five years she spent there solidified her professional knowledge and prepared her for working abroad.
From 2015, she worked as a chief physician in the Cardiology Department of the Rehabilitation Clinic in Gais, Switzerland, and was later invited to the Institute for Occupational Medicine (Institut für Arbeitsmedizin) in Baden to work as an independent cardiologist. She concluded her international career in February 2023 and returned to Hungary.
We are delighted that after such a successful career, Dr. Metz has joined the MC60 team and continues her career as a cardiologist in our institution.
„It has always been of great importance to me to keep my knowledge up to date throughout my career. I have attended numerous conferences and scientific symposia.
In my work, evidence-based medicine is a key component, but I also place great emphasis on a holistic approach. Prevention is crucial for me to improve patients’ quality of life.”
