neurosurgeon specialist
Dr. Berényi György received his medical degree from the University of Szeged with the distinction "Summa Cum Laude". During his university years, he was a demonstrator at the Institute of Anatomy, where he was involved in preparatory activities in addition to teaching medical students. His detailed anatomical study of neural structures led him to apply for a specialization in neurosurgery after graduation.
Subsequently, in 2016, he was accepted to the National Institute of Mental Neuroscience and Neurosurgery (better known as the Amerikai road Neurosurgery), the country's most renowned neurosurgery clinic, where he is now a consultant neurosurgeon. The Institute is the third largest neurosurgery centre in Europe, with around 4000 inpatient visits per year – giving him invaluable professional experience over the years.
He is also involved in the training of medical students within the Department of Neurosurgery at Semmelweis University.
He has participated in training courses, conferences, and practical courses at several institutions abroad, both as a student and as a lecturer. He has undertaken internships abroad in Italy, Serbia, and Austria to learn modern and innovative techniques.
His professional focus and scientific interests include the minimally invasive use of spinal surgery techniques, the acquisition and application of minimally invasive techniques to avoid surgical treatment of spinal disorders, the treatment of peripheral nerve disorders, the use of ultrasound and endoscopic treatments in neurosurgery.
We are delighted that the Doctor is a neurosurgeon at our institution, as his aim is to provide his patients with the most personalised treatment to meet their individual needs - without compromise.
