The PCR test can detect COVID-19, a coronavirus infection. The test detects the genetic material (RNA) of the virus, confirming the presence of the disease in the airways. In addition to confirming the suspicion of the disease, the test can be used for diagnosis, confirmation of cure and contact testing. Overmore, it has the advantage of being able to detect an incipient infection to which the immune system has not yet responded.
During the test, a sample is taken from the nasal or pharyngeal mucosa using a sampling stick. The sample is then tested, and the results are sent to the patient within 24-48 hours.
PCR test is also recommended before planned medical procedures, surgery, travel abroad or even employment.
To ensure the reliability of the results, please avoid the following activities 8-12 hours before sampling:
