Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men and ranks second in cancer-related deaths. PSA screening is a simple blood test that measures the level of a specific protein produced by the prostate, called prostate-specific antigen (PSA), helping in the early detection of prostate cancer.
Early diagnosis is crucial, as prostate cancer is more treatable in its initial stages, significantly improving both quality of life and survival chances. Regular PSA screening is particularly recommended for men over 50, but for those with a family history of the disease, it is advisable to start as early as 45.
